History
Teleca started as an engineering services partner to Ericsson in 2001. The company grew through expanding relationships with Nokia and other top device manufacturers, developing strong local market expertise in Sweden, Finland, Germany, and the UK, coupled with a low cost development center in Poland.
In 2006, Teleca acquired Telma in Russia, cementing its capabilities as one of the leading players in high quality, low cost offshore engineering services in the wireless industry. Teleca became the only player of scale with strong capabilities both close to the customer and in low cost countries.
By the end of 2008, Teleca launched additional capabilities in China and India, supporting its customers as they outsourced development to these countries. In the same year, the company was 100% acquired by the Symphony Technology Group, a leading technology investor based in Silicon Valley.
Teleca now enters 2009 with the most comprehensive global footprint of capabilities of any player in mobile software development. The company has industry leading capabilities in Europe and the US, supported by low cost centers in Eastern Europe, India, and China. These capabilities encompass every major mobile technology including Android, Symbian, Microsoft, BREW, Linux, and Adobe.
